Every movie is making an argument about what matters, whether it means to or not. Here, we take that seriously — reading films for the real questions they raise about hope, sacrifice, justice, and longing, and looking honestly at where those questions meet Scripture and the gospel.

You don't need a film degree or a theology degree to be here. If you've ever left a movie thinking “there was something more going on in that scene,” that's the whole starting point.

Here's how to use the site:

  • 1.Read an article on a movie you've already seen. It's easier to follow the argument when you already know the story.
  • 2.Check the spoiler note at the top. Every article says up front how much of the movie it gives away, so you can decide before you start reading.
  • 3.Browse by theme if a question is on your mind — hope, sacrifice, justice, and longing all show up across very different movies.
  • 4.Subscribe if you want new pieces in your inbox instead of checking back.
